The
development of the social outbreak and the impact it has had on my life has
been an experience of extreme and conflicting emotions. As for the positive,
there is much to say, I am deeply proud of the unity and fraternity that has
been generated in much of the Chilean people. A shared feeling of empathy and
struggle for common ideals. Also, the visibility of demands from different
sectors, entities and groups has given me great satisfaction. As for the
negative, mainly feelings of helplessness, general stress and uncertainty have
overwhelmed me in this period of time.
I was surprised how the different generations have managed to unite for a common welfare, where historically confronted social sectors have come out to protest for a fairer and less indifferent country. On the other hand, it has bothered me a lot to see how the political class has confirmed the selfishness that makes them look after their own interests regardless of the future of the country and the most discriminated classes.
I hope this
movement vindicates the many irregular situations in the country. That sets a
precedent in the world and above all that every Chilean can feel that within
himself there is a social fighter who, by joining with others, can generate
great changes.
Finally, it seems urgent to me that those victims of the
state obtain the justice they deserve, after having lost their lives and being
subjected to mutilations by the police.
